35. FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS

(a)

Classification of financial instruments

The fair value measurement hierarchies used to measure assets and liabilities carried at fair value in the statements of

financial position as at 31 March 2018 are as follows:

Level 1 - the fair value is measured using quoted prices (unadjusted) in active markets for identical assets or liabilities

Level 2 - the fair value is measured using inputs other than quoted prices included within Level 1 that are observable

for the asset or liability, either directly (i.e. as prices) or indirectly (i.e. derived from prices)

Level 3 - the fair value is measured using inputs for the asset or liability that are not based on observable market data

(unobservable inputs)
