Employee turnover in the
Plantation
relates primarily to
abscondments and resignations, respectively; the majority
of whom are engaged in physical labour where traditionally
the employee turnover has been high. Improving retention
is a critical priority for the Plantation Division and as such,
the division has ramped up efforts in building and upgrading
workers’ living quarters and estate infrastructure which are
complete with basic amenities, sundry shops, recreational
spaces, places of worship and internet connection as well as
providing rewards for performers.
